YEREVAN. – The emergency medical service of Armenia responded to 645 calls in capital city Yerevan on Easter Sunday, Emergency Medical Assistance Service Director Taguhi Stepanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am

She noted that, in recent times, they have received more calls on to acute respiratory infections and related illnesses, as the number of these calls had reached 800.     

“There were many calls before that, [but] now they seem to reduce, albeit they still are a lot. There is a tendency to reduce,” she added. 

Stepanyan also informed that the Emergency Medical Assistance Service can respond to 400-450, at most 500, calls per day.

She noted that, as always, the calls they receive are primarily related to cardiovascular illnesses, acute respiratory infections, injuries, and traumas.
