YEREVAN. – Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan, members of the Cabinet and other officials marked the 68th anniversary of the Victory in WWII and Liberation of Shushi by visiting Victory Park.

They laid flowers at the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and honored the memory of the killed by a minute of silence.  

Talking to reporters, Premier Sargsyan noted that his father was a participant of the Great Patriotic War.

“I am happy that we revived May 9 as a national holiday. This is the day of victory of the Armenian nation, too,” he said.

Struggling against fascism, Armenian soldiers were fighting for the future of the Republic of Armenia, he added.

He assured that the government will do everything for the veterans to fell attention of the government and public.

The ceremony was followed by a military march, after which Premier had a lunch with veterans in a field kitchen.
