A two-year-old died and at least twenty others were injured as a result of an earthquake that struck Iran on Saturday. 

Earlier reports were mentioning about eleven injured.  

Local emergency official Mohammad Shekari informed that the two-year-old had died of serious injuries, en route to hospital, RIA Novosti News Agency of Russia reports.

In addition, electricity and telephone connection was cut in the quake zone. 

According to Iranian seismologists, the epicenter of the 6.2 magnitude tremor was the port city of Jask.      

Rescue teams were sent to the quake-hit areas.
