YEREVAN. – Armenia should provide land for the Russian military base on paid basis, member of Heritage party Zaruhi Postanjyan said during the Monday session in parliament.

Such a measure must be introduced in exchange for increase in gas price, the opposition MP believes.

“We are providing goods free of charge, and they are raising the prices of their goods. This is a failure of our foreign policy. This is the result of incompetent policy of the Republican Party,” she said, addressing the lawmakers.

In his turn, parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan stated Armenia can not set the gas price alone, and informed of a debate on gas price that the parliament will host this week.

The debates, he said, would be attended by Prime Minister Tigran Sakisyan and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan.

Then, the speaker instructed to mute Postanjyan’s microphone because she called to hold a protest action against the rise in gas price near the building of the National Assembly.
