YEREVAN. – Cuba’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Emilio Lozada García—whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow—, on Tuesday presented his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

Sargsyan congratulated the ambassador for commencing his diplomatic mission in Armenia and wished him success in the initiatives to develop Armenian-Cuban relations, the President’s Press Office informs. He also underscored the need to enhance the bilateral political discourse and to develop cooperation in a variety of domains.   

The interlocutors highlighted the strengthening of interparliamentary ties and the collaboration within international organizations.

Ambassador García conveyed to President Sargsyan the warm greetings by Raúl Castro, the President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba, and the Cuban people’s warm and respectful disposition toward the Armenian people.

Serzh Sargsyan expressed a hope that, as a result of the tenure of the new ambassador, relations between Armenia and Cuba will develop in stable fashion and rise to a qualitatively new level.
