SARDARAPAT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR)—or Artsakh—Defense Minister, NKR Defense Army Commander Movses Hakobyan visits Armenia’s Sardarapat Memorial every year on May 28.

Hakobyan himself told the aforesaid to news reporters at the memorial. He stressed that by visiting Sardarapat Memorial every time, he receives strength to craft future victories for the Armenian nation.  

In the NKR Defense Army commander’s words, May is one of the most desired months for the Armenians, during which the Republic of Armenia crafted its independence.

“Just as the declaration of the first republic took place in May, with the Battle of Sardarapat, the victory that our forefathers brought in the Great Patriotic War and in the Artsakh War, with the liberation of [the City of] Shushi, [and the] establishment of the army, we created a new republic, the Artsakh Republic. This is a very important month for our nation, since our people have crafted their victories on the battlefield,” Movses Hakobyan noted.
