YEREVAN. – Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan commented on U.S. Ambassador’s remarks who mentioned the governments must interfere into IT sector as little as possible and the field must be free to choose the way of its development.

Tigran Sargsyan said John Heffern’s remarks are acceptable for the government. He expressed gratitude to U.S. Ambassador for his assistance to development of communication technologies.

“Ambassador’s remarks are referring to a stage when institutional basis is being created in communication technologies. In the future the government should not have a role in a competition for the market to create an impetus for development. I can note, with regret, that certain experts used Ambassador’s words outside the context and tried to attribute his remark to the Armenian government. He was making general judgments and I fully agree with him,” Premier said.
