YEREVAN. – During their swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday, the volunteers of the 21st group of the US Peace Corps in Armenia performed arias from the “Anoush” Armenian folk opera and staged “The Death of Kikos” Armenian fairy tale. 

In addition, US Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern delivered remarks at the event. 

Also, certificates were handed to the school principals of several Armenian villages.  

Subsequently, the volunteers, led by Heffern, took the respective oath and formally became US Peace Corps volunteers in Armenia.

At the end of the event, the volunteers sang “My Yerevan,” in Armenian.
