YEREVAN. – Investigation into the recent incident on the border between Armenia and Turkey showed no results.

Officially, the Russian side has acknowledged the incident, but refused to report the details and give estimations until the investigation is over. In parallel, Armenian and Turkish Foreign Ministries exchanged notes.

Shepherd Mustafa Ulker, an ethnic Azerbaijani, was killed on August 1 at the border between Armenia and Turkey.

According to the Turkish side, Ulker who crossed the border with Armenia walking behind the herd was wounded and later died.

According to an unofficial version of the Russian side, the 35-year-old Turkish shepherd opened fire upon the Russian border guards, and then tried to advance into the territory of the Republic. The Russian border guards had opened fire in response, and wounded the border trespasser.
