Armenia has an intention to join the Customs Union and participate in formation of the Eurasian Economic Union, says the statement issued by presidents of Armenia and Russia.

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and his Russian counterpart issued a joint statement as a result of talks in Moscow.

 President Putin voiced support for the decision, expressing readiness to assist the process.

“The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced the decision of the Republic of Armenia to join the Customs Union and make necessary practical steps in this regard, and subsequently participate in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union ,” the statement reads.
