Former U.S. envoy to UN offered to create a single economic area in the South Caucasus.
During his visit to Georgia, founder of Institute for Multi-track diplomacy John McDonald said the idea is supported by Georgian PM Bidzina Ivanishvili, Gruziya Online reported.
Premier supported the idea and he had already held meetings with the political leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey, McDonald said.
Asked whether the idea is realistic amid Armenia’s decision to join Customs Union and Georgia’s European aspirations, John McDonald noted that he is optimistic since Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan “have much in common.”
