YEREVAN. – It was found out that a Grade 9 student in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan had stolen close to 1 million drams (approx. $2,470) from someone’s bank account, and by using computer technology.

A woman had lost her visa card several months ago, but the next day her bank had called and informed her that the card was returned to the bank.

According to the woman’s calculations, her several months’ salary, which was to total 1 million drams, should have accumulated on her account. But it turned out that there was no money in her account.

As a result of months of investigation, it was found out that a Grade 9 student had stolen the money in the account, and by the use computer technology.

We ascertained from the Police, however, that a decision was reached to drop the criminal case that was opened against the student, since the latter was a minor at the time of committing this act.
