YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday received Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, and Swiss-Armenian philanthropists Dikran and Helena Izmirlian.

The President highly appreciated the Izmirlian Foundation’s past and present charitable projects, both in Armenia and in Nagorno-Karabakh, which include the latest and yet another important initiative: the reopening of Izmirlian Medical Center, in capital city Yerevan, functioning under the auspices of the Armenian Church.

In addition, Sargsyan awarded the Order of Saint Mesrop Mashtots to Dikran Izmirlian, in recognition of his contribution to the strengthening of Homeland-Diaspora ties and his patriotic activities for numerous years.

The Izmirlian family members also were on hand at the awarding ceremony.

On his part, benefactor Dikran Izmirlian stressed that it is owing to his devoted parents that he and his family are conducting patriotic activities.

“Armenia is and always will be in our hearts,” the national philanthropist assured.
