YEREVAN. – The medical service of the Armenian Department of Corrections diagnosed that ex-presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakyan has liver problems.

Sedrakyan’s attorney Aleksandr Sirunyan stated the above-said at a press conference on Wednesday.

“We did not expect [it], but the medical service diagnosed. We were thinking that they would say the papers we brought are a formality, but they examined and confirmed that he has a liver problem,” Sirunyan added.

The attorney noted that the physicians visit Sedrakyan frequently and there is no need to transfer him to the Prison Hospital.

To note, capital city Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash General Jurisdiction Court had sentenced ex-presidential candidate and epic poetry specialist Vardan Sedrakyan to fourteen years in prison. In addition, accomplices Samvel Harutyunyan and Khachatur Poghosyan were sentenced to twelve and fourteen years, respectively.
