Pope Francis was named the Person of the Year 2013 by Time magazine.

The second in the list is former employee of the U.S. special services Edward Snowden followed by gay rights activist Edith Windsor.

This is the third time that pope is named the Person of the Year. Before they were Pope John Paul II in 1994 and to Pope John XXIII in 1963, Reuters reported.
