YEREVAN. – A second military serviceman is detained along the lines of the criminal case that is opened on the death of Armenian soldier Vanichka Hovakimyan.

The other suspect, Paruyr Mkrtchyan, 20, who had fled from the military unit, has been detained, informed the sources of Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Earlier, soldier Shmavon Kyureghyan, 19, was detained within the framework of the aforesaid criminal case.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, the dead body of conscript, Private Vanichka Hovakimyan was found, on Tuesday at around 6:10pm, in the area of a military unit of the Armenian MOD. Hovakimyan’s body was found with a gunshot wound in the lower jaw. The MOD Investigation Service opened a criminal case on charges of causing suicide.
