YEREVAN. – The 24-hour hotline service of the Ministry of Health of Armenia received forty calls between January 1 and 7, 2014, hotline person in charge Hasmik Harutyunyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

Three cases of food poisoning were recorded during the New Year and Armenian Christmas (January 6) holidays. According to the emergency service data, these were light cases, and the affected persons did not wish to be hospitalized.   

Harutyunyan noted that one case of drug intoxication was recorded, but the affected person was discharged from hospital the next day. 

“The minister of health was reported on the calls received during the non-working days, and the whole process is under his supervision.

“As compared to the previous year, this year there has been around ten more telephone calls which were of information nature. [But] the poisonings were less this year as compared to the previous year,” Hasmik Harutyunyan concluded.
