EU High Representative for foreign affairs and security policy Catherine Ashton will travel to Persian Gulf states next week.

Spokesperson Michael Mann said she would visit UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar to hold meetings with the leadership of the states, ITAR-TASS reported.

The EU foreign policy chief will discuss the key regional issues, in particular situation in Syria and Iran talks.
