YEREVAN. – Had Armenia not become Russia’s lackey, serf, and even the slave at the will of today’s princelings, the natural gas problem would not have been at this level.  

Opposition National Self-Determination Union (NSU) Chairman, ex-presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Tuesday. 

In Hayrikyan’s words, even Paris pays much less for gas than Armenia, while they still say that the Russian gas is sold to Armenia at a cheaper price.      

Reflecting on the Armenian authorities’ decision to join the Russian-led Customs Union, the NSU leader expressed a view that this matter should be decided through a referendum.

“They say that they will give cheap gas. [But] the price of oil could fall tomorrow, and you will be in the status of a bankrupt state. We need to fight against the gas agreements because this is all wrong,” he noted.      

Paruyr Hayrikyan also expressed a belief that the Armenian nationwide awakening will become a reality before long.
