YEREVAN. – A quite sufficient price was offered for wind power stations in Armenia.

Robert Nazaryan, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am

“We are going forward with renewable energy, and are collaborating toward its development. I have repeatedly pointed this out by bringing the example of the development of the small HPPs [hydro power plants].

“As for the wind power stations, our price fully complies with international standards, but we don’t want to give them a superprofit,” Nazaryan stated.

The current starting price for wind power stations in Armenia is 35 drams (approx $ 0.09), without the value added tax.

At present, solely one wind power station operates in Armenia, and this station was built with assistance by Iran. But the annual production (3.8 million kW/h in 2013) does not exceed 0.5 percent of the total electricity production of Armenia.
