YEREVAN. – Some two dozen people on Wednesday assembled near Victory Park in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan (photo).

Subsequently, they marched toward the Embassy of Ukraine in Yerevan, to express their support to the Ukrainians who are waging a fight at EuroMaidan, in Ukrainian capital city Kyiv.

“We condemn the Ukrainian authorities’ violence against the demonstrators. This is a message to [Armenian President] Serzh Sargsyan that we have not forgotten [the] March 1 [tragedy that occurred in Yerevan in 2008]. This is also a message to Russia’s dictator [President Vladimir] Putin, so he would stop massacring the people. We will demand that [Ukrainian President Viktor] Yanukovych be held to account,” stated human rights activist Artur Sakunts, who was taking part in the demonstration.

“We want to show our solidarity and support to the Maidan. We demand that appropriate steps be taken, [that] there would no longer be any victims at Maidan,” protestor Anna Nikoghosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
