YEREVAN. –  We need to find out whether gas prices in Armenia will meet the law on energy, MP from ARF Dashnaktsutyun Artsvik Minasyan told lawmakers.

Speaking about the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on gas pricing, Minasyan said it is neccessary to check its compliance with Armenia's law on energy.

“The current legislation suggests possibility of differentiation of tariffs in terms of consumption, terms of connection, seasonality, hour of the day. I think that the principles of gas tariffs should primarily come from the Armenian legislation, and then from international practice,” he said.

The agreement was signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Armenia last December.
