YEREVAN. – Civilization originated in the Armenian Highlands and, subsequently, it spread around the world. This idea will be the hinge of the film entitled Forgotten Homeland of Ancestors, which will be shot in various countries.

Director of the film, Arsen Hakobyan, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Tuesday.

“This film is the second part of the film series, From Ararat to Europe. It will remind several nations that their origin comes from the Armenian. Eighty percent of the film’s script is ready.

“In the film we need to give the idea, and primarily foreign scholars will have to speak about it. Now, we are making preliminary arrangements with the scholars,” Hakobyan said.

The film’s budget is about €50,000, and a respective fundraising is launched. In turn, Armenian Studies specialist Hamlet Martirosyan noted that the film has two axes.

“First, civilization has originated in Armenia, and spread afterwards. Second, some modern-day tribes and nations have preserved in their traditional national recollection that they have come from Armenia,” Martirosyan noted.

In Arsen Hakobyan’s words, this film is a very powerful propaganda tool, and once it is completed, it may be translated into Turkish.

“What we write in books does not often get the point across. But a one-hour film may contain the important information of dozens of books,” he added.
