YEREVAN. – Nothing has changed in Armenia-European (EU) relations. 

President Serzh Sargsyan stated the aforesaid Wednesday at his talk with Speaker Vangelis Meimarakis of the Hellenic Parliament, who is in Armenia on a two-day official visit.

Sargsyan expressed the hope that Meimarakis’ current visit will give new impetus to the development of Armenian-Greek relations. The President stressed that Armenia attaches importance to these relations which, as per Sargsyan, have great potential.    

The Greece parliament leader likewise stressed that the Armenian-Greek friendship has a great future. 

The interlocutors underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in pushing the bilateral political discourse forward. 

Serzh Sargsyan and Vangelis Meimarakis also reflected on Armenia-EU relations. Sargsyan stressed that nothing has changed in these relations, and the joint work is continuing toward the deepening of collaboration. For his part, the speaker of the parliament of Greece, which is the current chairing country in the EU, assured that his country will do everything possible to contribute to the development of Armenia-European Union relations.
