German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Geneva,  German foreign office tweeted.

Steinmeier said talks with Russia's FM Lavrov in Geneva were “difficult, long and serious”. As to possible sanctions imposed by EU,  Steinmeier said if there are no decisive steps till Thursday, “then I think European Council will take measure”. 

Russian foreign ministry website said Lavrov and  Steinmeier discussed situation in Ukraine and possible ways out of the current crisis.
