Mamikon Khojoyan will undergo surgery and continue his medical treatment at Surb Grigor Lusavorich (Saint Gregory the Illuminator) Medical Center of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.

Ijevan city medical center director Vazgen Margaryan told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Margaryan informed that specialists from Yerevan came to see Khojoyan—who was being treated at the Ijevan medical center—, they examined him, and decided that it would be better if he were transferred to Yerevan.

He should be at Surb Grigor Lusavorich in about an hour.

Mamikon Khojoyan, 77, a resident of Verin Karmiraghbyur village of Armenia’s Tavush Region, was taken captive by Azerbaijan on January 28. He suffers from mental illness. Azerbaijan returned the elderly to Armenia on Tuesday. During his captivity, however, the elderly was tortured, his hand was broken, there are a lot of bruises on the body, and he had even sustained a gunshot wound. Now, he needs to undergo a surgery.
