YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia received a call on Saturday at 5:22am.

The call informed that a car accident had occurred in capital city Yerevan, that there were injured, there was a natural gas leak in the vehicle, and rescuers were needed.

A fire and rescue squad was dispatched to the scene, the MES Rescue Service informed.

It was found out that a Volkswagen—with Lilit Umujyan, 24, behind the steering wheel—had gone off road, for yet unknown reasons, and crashed into a pole.

The driver and her passenger—Iranian citizen A. Kh., 32—were hospitalized with various injuries.

Doctors say the patients are in moderate health condition.
