The summons for the questioning of Georgia’s former President Mikheil Saakashvili was handed over to his mother, Giuli Alasania.

Prosecutor Koka Katsitadze informed that, during Saturday’s special briefing at the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, Saakashvili was called in for questioning in connection with several criminal cases, and as a witness. 

Other investigative activities are not yet planned concerning Saakashvili, reported Gruzia Online news agency of Georgia.

Katsitadze recalled that Saakashvili has no immunity anymore, and therefore he needs to present a reason for not appearing for questioning.

“But we expect Saakashvili to come in for questioning and answer the investigation queries,” the prosecutor stated.
