YEREVAN. – The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was relatively calm on Sunday.

The Armenian defense minister’s press secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The situation is relatively calm for two days; they [i.e., Azerbaijan] have fired fewer shots, and since there were no targeted shots, we have not responded. Yesterday [Sunday], for example, they fired 26 times,” Hovhannisyan said.

He added, however, that there are no casualties or injuries in the Armenian side.

The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was tense at the end of the week past. Azerbaijan was actively violating the ceasefire; it was firing shots even with large machine guns, and it did not stop shooting until receiving a response.
