French President François Hollande will try to contribute to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“French President Francois Hollande’s official visit to Azerbaijan, that will take place next month, is of great political importance,” French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Meunier told journalists, reported APA news agency of Azerbaijan.
He recalled that President Hollande will visit Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.

“One of main goals of President Hollande’s visit is to support a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The resolution of this conflict will open up great opportunities for both sides.

“The second aim is to show that this region is a sovereign region that can determine its future itself. We support peace and friendship among the regional countries,” the French ambassador stated.

François Hollande is slated to visit Azerbaijan on May 11 and 12.
