YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Acting Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated in the session of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.

The meeting was convened on Friday in Moscow.

The CIS FMs approved nearly two dozen documents on the activities of the CIS, the Armenia MFA pres service informed.
The ministers reflected on the consultations among the FMs of the CIS countries, information exchange on foreign policy agenda, and collaboration within international organizations.

The meeting agenda included the draft statement, with respect to combating against illegal drug trafficking, which will be submitted to the Council of the CIS Heads of State.  

The CIS FMs also reached an agreement on the draft documents towards the improvement of cooperation.
In addition, it was decided that 2016 will be declared Education Year in the CIS.
