Turkey has toughened its entry rules that apply for Russian tourists.

Accordingly, when crossing the Turkish border without the authorization procedure, from now on the tourists will have to have a foreign passport which is valid for at least four months before its expiration date, informed the official website of the Embassy of Turkey in Moscow.

Prior to this decision, however, the foreign passport had to be valid for at least three months before their dates of expiry.

The sharp tightening of these rules may disrupt the plans of Russian citizens who intend to vacation in Turkey in the coming holidays in May, RBK.ru reported.
