YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday participated in the annual general meeting of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, during which the main results of the academy’s 2013 scientific activities were summarized.

At the meeting, Sargsyan also urged the scientists and the scholars to be patient in terms of the funded pension system in Armenia, and to wait for the government’s respective decision.

As for the Lake Sevan issue, he asked the scientists to exhibit a scientific approach toward this matter.

The President stated that the government will reach a decision on the funded pension system, that this decision will be posted on the PM’s website, and it will express the outlook of the new government on this matter.

“You will see that the government is truly taking [respective] steps. And not even one drop of [Lake] Sevan’s water goes to Azerbaijan,” Sargsyan said, in particular.

He recalled that the National Assembly has passed a law on Lake Sevan, and the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia had prepared the corresponding rationale.

President Serzh Sargsyan added that everything must be used sparingly, and in consideration of the coming generations.
