YEREVAN. – April 2005 was a starting point when many things changed in the Turkish society. The symposium on Armenian Genocide was held, and the Turks started speaking about the Genocide, Turkish journalist of Armenian origin Aris Nalcin said during a conference in Yerevan.

In 2007 Hrant Dink was killed, and Turkish intellectuals raised their protest. He noted that new, more educated generation is among those participating in protest actions.

Starting from April 23, demonstrations are held in Taksim square. On April 24 meetings will be held in Turkish universities.

“However, despite demonstrations, official position of Turkey remains unchanged,” he emphasized.
