Turkey’s newly founded Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) staged a march, on Wednesday evening in Istanbul, in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.

The participants in the march held signs that read, “Don’t forget the Armenian Genocide,” reported Mynet.com of Turkey.

The participants assembled in Sisli district, lit candles, placed carnations, and commenced the march under Armenian music.

The march ended in Kurtulus district, where the participants made a statement and condemned the Turkish authorities’ policy of Armenian Genocide denial.

Commemoration events for the Armenian Genocide victims are slated to be held in several Turkish cities on Thursday.
