The Free Egyptians Party has criticized Turkey’s policy of silence and denial toward the crime that was committed against the Armenians at the turn of the 20th century.

In a party statement, which is posted on its official website, it is noted that, ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the Free Egyptians Party demands from Turkey to review the chapter of that historic crime, since there can be no statute of limitations for it.

In addition, Turkey is urged to recognize and criticize this crime perpetrated against humanity, and to apologize to the Armenian people for the bloody slaughter.

The Free Egyptians Party is an Egyptian liberal party, founded after the 2011 Egyptian revolution. It supports the principles of a liberal, democratic, and secular political order in post-Mubarak Egypt, and it has fifteen deputies in the country’s parliament.
