On the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the youth from the Armenian community in Strasbourg, France, on Thursday staged a march toward the Turkish embassy for the first time.

About 450-500 people took part in the march.

The demonstrators sang Armenian patriotic songs, waved Armenia’s tri-color national flag, held numerous banners of protest outside the Turkish embassy for two hours, and demanded Turkey to recognize the Armenian Genocide and restore justice.

Subsequently, the march continued toward Strasbourg’s Republic Square, where numerous official delivered remarks and wreaths were laid in memory of the immortal soldier.

Representatives from the Kurdish national minority also joined the Armenian youth.

Immediately after the speeches, the participants marched toward Strasbourg’s Armenian Apostolic Church, where a requiem service was offered to the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide.
