YEREVAN. – An exhibition of works by famous Italian artist and sculptor Bruno Bruni will be held at the National Gallery of Armenia from April 26 to June 2 (photo).
The exhibition is held under the auspices of President Serzh Sargsyan and with support of Renco, an Italian construction company, organizer Armine Antikyan told reporters on Friday.
She said around 100 works will be displayed, while a film about Bruno Bruni will be screened on the final day of exhibition on June 2.
President of the company Giovanni Gasparini expressed gratitude to the Armenian president and authorities, as well as to Italian embassy in Yerevan.
“There are a few places in the world where I feel at home. One of such places is Armenia. Renco is operating in many countries, but Armenia is the only country where we organize a cultural event,” he said.
The company also supported Rossini festival in Armenia and Armenian cultural event in the Italian town of Pesaro.
“Many European states can envy the culture your country has. Armenians must be proud of this. We are close in terms of our cultures, and this is the key condition for cooperation. Tomorrow's exhibition is another proof of our love and acknowledgment of Armenian culture,” he said.
Introducing Bruno Bruni, the president of the company noted that he is “insane” in a positive sense of this word.
In turn, famous Italian artist described his works are easy to perceive.
“When you look at them, it is easy to understand. Many people try to forget the most important part of Italian Renaissance, but I continue to learn from the old masters,” he said.
Referring to the Armenian art, Bruni noted creativity of Armenian artists.
“Like many Armenians, I live outside of my country. Armenian and Italian art is similar in that both our nations are Christians, in addition, both Armenians and Italians have much in common, and therefore there are a lot of similarities in our arts,” Bruni emphasized.
Bruni noted with regret that he has poor knowledge of Armenia, but promised that during the time spent in our country, he will try to get to know the Armenians and Armenia better.
“At least I liked what I have seen in Armenia so far,” he resumed.
