YEREVAN. – The Gyumri Technopark is in normal condition, and no one is going to close it down, Armenian Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan said at the National Assembly on Monday.

Chshmarityan recalled that the official name of the aforementioned enterprise is Gyumri Technology Center.
“The official opening of the center will take place soon. Some time thereafter, another [such] center will open in Vanadzor [city], and over the long run, in the Syunik Region,” the minister stated.

In 2009, the Government of Armenia approved the assistance program for the Gyumri Technopark. According to Kevin Thompstone, an analyst at Shannon International Development Consultants of Ireland, the construction of the center will cost around $55 million.
