YEREVAN. – The middle class, and not the socially disadvantaged, are emigrating from Armenia, sociologist Aharon Adibekyan stated at a press conference on Thursday.
Adibekyan analyzed the results of a survey conducted in the country’s regions.
“The emigration rate is quite high, which shows that those leaving the republic are not [those] who are unable to find a job, or solve their financial problems, but rather those who are able to do this, but the final result is unsuitable for them,” the sociologist stressed.
Aharon Adibekyan added that you need money—which the poor do not have—in search for a better life in a foreign country.
