Azerbaijani authorities have appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in connection with captivity of Azerbaijani citizen.

The ICRC representative Zara Amatuni confirmed for Armenian News-NEWS.am that the Azerbaijani side had appealed to the organization in connection with the media reports on a citizen in Armenian captivity.

Earlier the same information was announced by the representative of ICRC Baku office. If information is confirmed, the Azerbaijani side requests ICRC to carry out relevant procedures within its mandate.

As reported earlier, Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army released a photo of Guliyev Shahbaz Jalaloghlu—the captured member of the Azerbaijani sabotage and intelligence team.

Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said the citizen of Azerbaijan mentioned in the Armenian media is not serving in the armed forces.
 
Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan on Saturday informed that the Armenian soldiers have killed an Azerbaijani saboteur while neutralizing the adversary’s diversionary team on Friday in Karvachar Region.

But an Armenian officer was killed and a woman was wounded during the crossfire.
