Russian President Vladimir Putin called upon all conflicting parties in Ukraine to ensure conditions for a comprehensive investigation of the Malaysia Airlines plane crash in eastern Ukraine.

Putin issued a respective statement.

“We can confidently say that if the military operations had not resumed in eastern Ukraine on June 28, this tragedy would not have occurred.

“At the same time, no one should—and does not have the right to—use this tragedy to achieve petty selfish political objectives,” Vladimir Putin specifically said in his statement, informed the Russian president’s press office.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777 passenger plane, which was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on July 17 in Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast (Province), near the Russian border.
