YEREVAN. – There is need for complying the regulations in trade regimes; it is due to technical problems, ruling Republican Party of Armenia MP Khosrov Harutyunyan told Aravot daily.

“[He] reflected on the remarks that the EaEU [Eurasian Economic Union] members have put forth before Armenia a demand to set up customs checkpoints along the entire length of the Armenian-Karabakh border.

“In Harutyunyan’s words, ‘Linking Armenia’s EaEU accession delay to the matter that Armenia faces a need to draw a border with Karabakh means misrepresenting the situation.

‘“The President of Armenia has expressed his position on the Karabakh issue that he never imagines under any circumstance separate, independent, internationally differentiated Armenia-Karabakh areas.

‘“We’re not prepared to draw a border between the two countries—that is, the same state—for the sake of Eurasian Union accession. Armenia does not face such an issue,’” Aravot wrote.
