Selahattin Demirtas, whom Turkey’s Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) has nominated as presidential candidate in Turkey’s forthcoming presidential election, was the guest on NTV television of Turkey, and he spoke about the country’s problems.

Demirtas stated that if elected President of Turkey, he will embark on the creation of a new Constitution.

He also criticized the Turkish authorities’ discriminatory attitude toward the non-Turkish population of the country.  

“Turkey has the Armenian Genocide issue, which is still denied,” the Demirtas specifically added.

Selahattin Demirtas, who is Chairman of Turkey’s pro-Kurdish “Peace and Democracy Party” (BDP), has repeatedly condemned the Armenian Genocide and insisted that Turkey recognize it.
