YEREVAN. – We need to instill, with joint efforts, mutual understanding and tolerance in Georgia.

Armenian Minister of Justice Hovhannes Manukyan, who was Armenia’s previous Ambassador to Georgia, told the abovementioned to reporters on Thursday.

He stated the aforesaid commenting on the huge brawl that took place on July 19 between Armenians and Georgians, and nearby the Holy Etchmiadzin Armenian Church in the Georgian capital city Tbilisi.

“Regardless of the reasons for the incident, it should be noted that we have problems in connection with religious and ethnic tolerance; it is necessary to solve these problems together.

“We need to give a very huge importance not solely to the good neighborly and strong relations of our two countries, but [of our] peoples.

“Georgia is our [Armenia’s] strategic route towards the outside world and an important foreign political partner.

“We need to do our best so that relations with the friendly [Georgian] people strengthen and deepen,” Manukyan specifically stressed.
