YEREVAN. – The Air France plane, which was conducting the Paris-Yerevan flight on July 26, was 1,000 meters away from the runway. So, the information, according to which the plane had tilted to the left and grazed the runway during landing, is inaccurate.

Armenian General Department of Civil Aviation Press Secretary Nelly Cherchinyan told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The weather was unfavorable, and the [plane] crew decided to make a second rotation. There was nothing extraordinary. The passengers were simply scared, [and] they thought they were close to the runway,” Cherchinyan added.

The pilots of the aforesaid plane were unable to land the aircraft at the first attempt in Zvartnots International Airport of Armenian capital city Yerevan. As a result, they decided to make a second rotation, and therefore sharply increased speed. The plane circled around the airport for another forty minutes, during which it was shaking very strongly. Fortunately, the pilots managed to land the plane with about an hour delay.
