YEREVAN. –The US will surely be able to continue to work with Tigran Sargsyan as a new Ambassador of Armenia to the United States, John Heffern, the US ambassador to Armenia, told the media on Tuesday.

Asked whether the candidacy of Tigran Sargsyan was the most appropriate one for the US, considering accusations of designing of and involvement into an offshore scheme, Heffern responded that every country picks its own ambassadors to represent it overseas.

“We've worked for years with Mr Sargsyan as the Prime Minister, and I'm sure we will be able to continue working with him as the Armenia's ambassador,” he added.

Tigran Sargsyan was appointed Ambassador after 6 years in office as the PM. On July 15 Sargsyan handed his credentials over to the US President Barack Obama.
