YEREVAN. – The only goal of the possible meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents is continuation of negotiation process that is contributing to fragile ceasefire, deputy director of Caucasus Institute Sergey Minasyan said.

“The meeting neither has, nor can have other goals, since the parties are unlikely to have considerable changes in their positions unless there is force majeur,” Minasyan told reporters.

Minasyan drew attention to the fact that although Russia and West have openly hostile relations, the format of the OSCE Minsk Group is preserved. The reason is, the expert noted, that Moscow, Washington, Paris and Brussels are well aware that nothing good will come of changing the status quo.
