An MP from Turkey's opposition Republican People's Party Hursit Gunes has filed a lawsuit against PM Erdogan for insulting Armenian.
The MP said Erdogan spoke about Armenians in a way as if being Armenian is a crime, Zaman reported.
“The Prime Minister publicly insulted Armenians and demonstrated enmity .Such behavior is punished by the criminal code,” Gunes said.
The lawsuit was filed to Ankara's general prosecutor’s office.
As reported earlier, Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan made an insulting remark during a television interview.
“I am from Rise. They called me a Georgian. Pardon me for saying this, but they said even uglier things. They called me an Armenian,” Erdogan said.
