German Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay an official visit to Kyiv on August 23.

During a meeting with Petro Poroshenko, Merkel will discuss situation in Ukraine and Russian-Ukrainian relations, Merkel's spokesman Steffen Seibert said.

German Chancellos is expected to discuss concrete possibilities to support Ukraine in the current crisis, Deutsche Welle reported.

Besides, Merkel will hold a meeting with Ukrainian PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk, an exchange with mayors of Ukrainian towns is also planned.
